Description
I grew up in Sardinia, Italy but left the island over 20 years ago. I have never engaged much with my home land’s popular music, but this haunting melody came to my mind in the early days of the COVID 19 pandemic, while I watched the news of the strict lockdown that took place in Italy. As these things go, I could not get it out of my head, so I recorded a simple arrangement of it and shared in on Facebook. I was really touched by the reactions it generated and felt it brought a bit of solace to my family, friends, as wall as many people I have never met. About a year ago, I decided to come back to this tune and wrote this more sophisticated arrangement, partly to work out a few ideas, and partly so that I could play it in concerts.
